The dreaming is a mythological era. It’s the time when the world was first made, when Raven first stole the sun and the birds sang Prokofiev. It’s also the time when animals were humans and could be everywhere at once.

Hence this blog. Sometime I feel like I live four lives. Each life feels like a cross between a double rainbow and the moment of realization before wiping out on a big wave.

1. Photography -I am a commercial photographer and that’s my number one gig. Light and I have a steady relationship (we both put a lot of work into it).

2. Music – Originally trained in classical violin, now I live my life in minor pentatonic as a rock violinist and singer. When I play that electric and sing out, it feels like tidal waves pulling me through the green water.

3. Traditional Sea Kayaking – What’s with all the references to the sea? I another life I was born in the saltwater, upside down, hanging from a kayak. I build skin-on-frame kayaks and happen to find myself in epic situations in them.

4. Primitive Skills - Traditional ways of living and seeing the world are dying every day. My deepest commitment is to living and relearning ways of the indigenous. Which nowadays, mostly involves getting sprayed with squid ink. And writing articles for the Society of Primitive Technology.

This blog is what I would be like were I not schizophrenic. Here on the web I am one with everything and lighter than a slice of bread.
